Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using SeriesSync ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use SeriesSync. By registering, you confirm you meet this age requirement. Users under 18 should have parental consent.

3. User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must promptly notify us of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Content Policy

When using SeriesSync, you agree not to:

  • Post offensive, defamatory, or harassing content in your bio or any user-visible fields
  • Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited communications
  • Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or circumvent any security measures
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
  • Use automated means to access the Service without our prior written consent
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates this policy and to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion.

5. Intellectual Property

SeriesSync and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SeriesSync and protected by intellectual property law.

TV show metadata, images, and descriptions are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB) under their terms of use. We are not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

6. AI-Generated Content

SeriesSync uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate spoiler-free episode recaps. These recaps are AI-generated and may contain inaccuracies. They are provided for convenience only and should not be treated as authoritative summaries. We are not liable for any decisions made based on AI-generated content.

7. Third-Party Integrations

The Service may integrate with third-party platforms such as Trakt.tv. Your use of those integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

8. Service Limitations & Availability

  • The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.
  • We impose reasonable rate limits on API usage to ensure fair access for all users.
  • Features dependent on third-party APIs (TMDB, Anthropic) may be unavailable if those services experience downtime.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SeriesSync disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or that it will be secure, error-free, or available at any particular time or location.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SeriesSync shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct we deem harmful to other users or the Service.
